FLORIDA WEEK HERE IN KNOXVILLE, TN

Written By: Gary Kirkland         Well it's finally here! For those that don't know Tennessee has a huge Rivalry with the Florida Gators.  Florida played their first game in 1916. Even though the Rivalry really didn't develop until the early 90's. Previous to the SEC going to a 12 school conference and the creation of the East and West Divisions in the SEC.          Tennessee took the First 10 games over a span of 37 years between 1916 and 1953. Florida gets their first 4 in a row over a Span of 9 years between 1976 and 1985.          The Tennessee/Florida game has taken place every September except for 2001. I remember that week vividly everyone was up ready for Florida week the Trash talking at least for me started at the beginning of the Season. Then the Terrorist attack both teams decided to reschedule till December. No matter what each team thinks about each other they both decided to become Patriots and mourn the loss of so many lives. I will touch on 9/11 in a seperate article. GOD BLESS AMERICA!         Florida leads the Series right now 22-19 with a 7 game win streak. Will 2012 be the year Tennessee will break the streak?
